Jizo in Shikenya

I looked up Jizo in Shikenya. These Jizo are not popular among people, but I sometimes see the aged circle members taking care of it. Therefore, I didn't know why they were made. I was taught that in olden times many people climbed Mt.Shosha after praying "Diety, please guard us on our way to Mt.Shosha". I understood that Jizo in Shikenya had an important role to save the old people's life.
