Takamasa Kuwana, Tsuda Elementary School, Himeji

Since 1993, the members of our Fushigi-Hakken Club, the club for discovery of wonders, have been studying the history of the Tsuda area. This home-page project was done as one of the club's activities. We picked up ruins, monuments and milestones to be photographed, such as the Tsuda Shrine(Kamae), the statue of Sugawara Michizane (Shian-bashi),the Hosokawa Jizo(Imazaike) and the Sakakizuka (Kamo). In August, we had a history seminar for parents and children. We spent time to take pictures with a digital camera in the seminar. They were nervous about touching the strange device for a while. But after several trials, they became familiar with it and excited. We chose some of the pictures taken then for a home-page. The camera was very easy to handle, but its battery ran out quickly, which made the project difficult.@ Anyway, children were very active and enjoyed the project. We would like to keep producing more information about the school events and nature in the area on a home-page.
