Message from the principal

The education which aim to develop the human possibilities
−−−The bringing up of Aboshi children who can learn enjoyably and act independently−−−

 In our school's gymnasium, we display the frame of calligraphy " Sincerity and Tolerance" which was written by Dr. Hideki Yukawa, who was the lecturer of 80th school foundation anniversary lecture in 30th of Showa(1955). And facing the playing ground, there stands the monument of autographic "Independence and Creativeness" of Dr.Shigeru Nanbara as a memorial events of 100th school foundation anniversary. And in 4th of Heisei, the memorial 120th book of "120th Trail of our home town History and cultural assets of Aboshi" was published.
 We have been trying to solve the educational problems by considering the local characteristics and always from both unchangeable and trendy point of view.
 For over 120 years, we have been bringing up plentiful humanity and creativeness, developing the human possibilities by educational activities.
 These enthusiastic and steady measures over a century is the basis of big power of our school's education.

The idea of developing each child's characteristic and accelerating his independent activities
       −−this school's educational aim and overall activities−−

 All our teachers commonly want pupils who are different in character and ability " to think that the shcool life is really enjoyable , to act indepedently and to gain plentiful humanities".
 We are trying to expand the diverse educational activities under the slogan " to have a dream ,talk each other,act and realize their raison d'etre."

  (1)  To make the fundamental educational plan
 In our school, we declare the educational motto that " In the sharply changing society, we are aiming at bringing up pupils who can survive independently and are in harmony with wisdom, virtue and body." and we are trying " to bring up Aboshi's children who can learn enjoyably and act independently."
 This fiscal year, by the structural chart we express the relations of "educational motto - fundamental policy of school management - fundamental policy of school operation -important items of educational acltion - the base of everyday's educational activity" and select key words for every important item.
 This educational fundamental plan shows the mesurements of realizing the educational motto in real educational activities and this plan is the basic concept that all the teachers act in uion towards our school's aiming education. For example, we have made every class's management plan aiming the important item of "fulfillment of school management". And every teacher set up the class motto and trying to do original activities in making friends and making classes.

  (2) Educational activities of expanding the ability of expression and activate indivisuals
 In our school, we are trying to bring up children who can express their own idea clearly by their own words. We are practicing with the common motto "read each other, listen each other, talk each other". Because we think this motto is the basis of bringing up not the person who are dependent on parents and social society, but the independent person who have self-awareness as a mankind.
 To realize this motto, we are practicing "mornig Japanese" as a base to read aloud with proper vocalization and pronouciation and holding regularly the meetings of reading aloud, with the unit of every grade in first term, all the school in second term and every class room in third term. And we held " the story telling" meeting by inviting volunteers and telling stories and so on. This is usuful for pupils to raise the willingness to improve their ability of expression by hearing the good way of telling.
 And in the study instruction of Japanese, we are trying to make a class of "Japanese unit study" successively to 6th of Heisei.
 And we are aiming at making classes "total study" in which we relate Japanese, science and living classes each other. Moreover, we are trying to make TTmethod classes by making use of computers and videos or with the aid of PTA.

  (3) Educational activities in which we attach great importance to experiences, activities and contact.
 The knowledges through experiences become wisdom of living and working. And the experienced activities of touching nature, local area and local people become the impressive experiences and they bring up the abundant sensibilities and the ability of problem solving. So we do the local studies positively which put the stress on experienced activities in the instruction of evry subject. Fortunately, in the school district there are many cultural assets as Aboshi port which had been prosperous in medieval period and is blessed with educational circumstances such as nature of Harima open sea and cooperative local residents. And we prepare first of all the lunch time touching with kindergartener and takenoko(bamboo) classmates ( handicapped classmates) and prepare places to touch different aged children such as classes of brother pair and places to touch to local residents such as aged people group and women's group.
 This kind of educational activities by touching proved to be very useful in bringing up gentleness and consideration as a human and making human relations.

  (4) Vivid pupils assosiation's activities
 "Samantha" is comming. The cultural exchange between United States and Japan by dolls would reopen after 72 years and the doll named "Samantha" would come to Aboshi elementary school from the elementary school in Misouri. Meeting commmittee would take charge of the Welcome Party, and they could hold wonderful Welcome Party by hitting upon various ideas such as making "hand-made flag" and "hand-made map".
 In June, we held the meeting named "Aboshi elementary school festival" in which every brother pair classes open shops.
 Pupils prepared enthusiastically and did vivid activities such as scooping balls and bowling and impatient stick and a haunted house. Especially, at the day before the meeting teachers were in difficulty to make pupils go home.
 In the representative committee, when we were talking about the method of making their around the shops, pupil A in the 4th grade proposed the circle coupon ticket and teachers were surprised once more at the pupil's flexibility and supereminence of their ideas.
 In special activities and outside the educational activities, pupils acted enthusiascically by showing their originalities and demonstrated their own character in all activities.
