The cite fo Aboshi elementary school is said to be a place fo the old clan house for the Wakisaka fo Tatsuno Clan.
The stone frame of well at that time are still reserved in the school ground.

Sakai-Bashi(A border Bridge)


The bridge between Shinzaike in Tatsuno Clan and Okihama in Marugame Clan is called as Sakai-Bashi(A border bridge)
The brook has been missing, but this stone bridge is still reserved carefully.

Funato Shrine(Wakamiya-San)


The neigborhood of this shrine which is called 'Wakamiya-San' is named Kagura-Oka(hill of Kagura or sacred music and dancing).
It is said that Jingu Empress anchored the ship near this area and performed the Kagura on her way from the attack to the west and this area was named after this event.

Remains of Kaishu Katsu's autography


This stone monument stands along the road immediate north of 'Wakamiya-San'.
The characters of the stone momument are said to be written by Kaishu Katsu.

Makoto-Juku(Makoto or 'Sincerity' private school


This private school is Makoto-Juku, which was founded by Touma Kouno in 1868.
Many people learned from Touma who was engaged in the establishment of new Meiji government.

Daisel Foreigneer's House


We heard that this house was built as the house for the foreign engineer when the factory of Japan Celluloid Company was constructed.
This kind of western-style house is rare in Himeji city.

Comments by the teacher

　As described in the school song's words "In the historical city of Himeji and vivid Port of Aboshi .... (the rest is omitted), there ara many historical remains in home town 'Aboshi'.
　On the hot day when the summere sunshine poured, I rode my bicycle and wnet around with pupils in search of such a historical remains of Aboshi.
　Only the railing of Sakai-Bashi which were removed in order to widen the road was reserved silently near the original place, putting us in mind the scene at that time. At Makoto-Juku, we met the person who took care of it by chance and could see inside the school.
　I spent the hot day wishing that pupils would ge more credit and love for our home town 'Aboshi' by comming across the well cared cultural assets till now and people who took the best care of it.
　I would be happy if the person who see this home-page would realize the scene of historical and cultural city of Aboshi and would have the feeling to visit our city.(The teacher in charge of 2nd class of 4th grade Makoto Okamoto.)
