Kumano shrine is usually quiet and surrounded by beautiful
green.
WE sometimes play chasing game in this yard.
On the festival day, this is crowded with portable shrines and people.
The portable shrine of my district is a purple one names Huton yatai.
Men are in Happies of special costume and some are naked except for
their loinclothes. They march with the portable shrines on their shoulders
all over our village and gather at this shrine in the evening. People,
hearing
the drums of the portable ones, come out and follow them.
As it gets dark, the lights on the shrine get on. How beautiful !
Everyone gets more and more excited !
